Indian Society for Technical Education Chapter in MCET was inaugurated on 27.09.2003. We have about 85 staff members in ISTE Staff Chapter and 1024 members in Students Chapter. Both Chapters are actively taking part in organising workshops and technical sessions.

ISTE Chapter of Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology was selected the Best Student Chapter of Kerala Section for the year 2010-2011. The Institute received the award at the Annual ISTE Student Convention held at Jayam Engineering College, Dharmapuri on 30 September, 2011.

The Chapter received the award for Maximum number of activities and Maximum number of new life members in 2010-2011.  The award was presented in the Annual  State Convention at Vidya Academy of Science and technology, Trichur on 19 November 2011.

Activities 2012-13

The Chapter coordinated Short Term Training Programs, Workshops, Paper presentation contests, Technical talks and awareness programs during 2012 - 2013. The following are the main activities.  

ISTE approved Short Term Training Program - Faculty Induction Propram (19-11-2012 to 23-11-2012)

Persons included 6 in- house faculty and 3 invited speakers. The program stressed on effective teaching methods, learner's outlook, motivation, effective communication and leadership. During the Microteaching sessions, the participants were given an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and ideas they acquired from the expert lectures through class room teaching. A group of senior faculty and peer participants evaluated this. This was recorded and projected and each faculty was asked to self evaluate. Suggestions for improvements were made by senior faculty members. The valedictory function was presided by Dr. Ashalatha Thampuran, Director, MCET. The participants' feedback was collected. Participation certificates were issued to the participant during the valedicatory function.

Organised a series of Invited Technical talks for the faculty and students of various departments.
