Student Clubs



Club Activities
M- CET believes in overall development of an individual. It encourages extra and co-curricular activities of students. All these activities aims at the development of social values, personality, communication skills, inter personal relationships etc. of students. Various clubs functioning in the college helps the students to nurture their talents.



Dance Club
The college employs dance tutors to train the students interested in dance. Students in the dance club have represented the college in various dance competitions held in the state and have won prizes.

Drama Club
The drama club serves the purpose of encouraging the theatrical skills of the students. It aims at giving the students an exposure to the stage and providing nourishment to their imagination. The club conducts inter class competitions like dumb charades, skit, script writing etc. The drama club has brought out series of short plays, skits and mimes.

Literary Club
This club acts to nurture the creativity and imaginative power of talented students.

Music Club
The music club at M-CET aims at the proper nourishment and good exercise of the God given gift. Expert tutors train the students in various fields of music. With eager involvement from its members, the club has hosted competitions in categories like classical music, instrumental music, light music, film songs, to name a few.

Painting Club
Beauty has always fascinated man. The painting club aims at bringing out the artistic talents of students, laying emphasis on appreciation of beauty.

1. 5th July 2003 - Workshop on Painting by Babunamboodri. K, Lecturer, Sri Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit.
2. 29th Sept 2003- Inauguration of painting club by K. C. Chithra Bhanu, Lecturer, College of Fine Arts.
3. 13th Aug 2004 - Workshop on Painting by Babunamboodri. K, Lecturer, Sri Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit.



Photography Club
The photography club has a sizeable number of members interested in still photography.

1. 15th Nov 2002 - Inauguration of photography club and photo exhibition.
2. 5th July 2003 - Workshop on Photography by Dr. Santhosh Babusenan and Satheesh Babusenan, Directors, Academy of Television and Film Art.
3. 13th Aug 2004 - Workshop on Photography by James Joseph, Film maker & Media Professional.



Social Service Club & NSS unit
The social service club was formed with a noble aim of serving the different sections of the under privileged and the needy. The club is sponsoring the educational expenses of an economically backward +2 student of a nearby school. It conducts regular Computer training programs for the teachers of LP schools in Anad village. NSS volunteers give special classes to 60 selected students of the Anad Govt. L P School in the evening. The club donates clothes, baby food etc. to the Infant Care Centre of Council for Child Welfare. The NSS volunteers of the collage have donated Blood to a number of patients admitted in hospitals in Trivandrum.

Quiz and Debate Club
The quiz and debate club empowers the students with the current facts of the world and boosts their oratory skills. The club organizes debate and elocution competitions once a week and holds regular rounds of quizzing to keep the students abreast of the current affairs, news and general knowledge.

1. 3rd July 2003- Inauguration of Debate club and Workshop on Debate by Sri. K. Gopalakrishnan, M.Phil, Department of English, University College, Trivandrum.
2. 20th Sept 2003- Intellectua – 2003, Inter Collegiate Debate and Quiz Competitions Sri. P.Vijay Kumar, Sr Lecturer in English, Govt. College for Women, Smt. Khyrunnis.A, Lecturer of English, All Saints College, and Sri. C.R. Soman, Chairman, Health Action for People were the judges for the events.



Paper Presentation Club
In today’s fast moving technical scenario, it is important to publish and present technical papers. The paper presentation club has been regularly keeping its members informed about the paper presentation competitions and seminars being held at different parts of the country. As a result a large number of students have presented their papers in various competitions and symposiums held at different venues all over the country and many of them have returned with prizes bringing laurels to the college. The names of few winners are listed below.

c. Arun Raj & Nibin G Varghese, “Migrating from GPS to GSRM Networks”, ELARA – 2k3, organized by S A Raja Engineering College, Vadakkankulam ---- 2nd Prize
d. Santhi S Nair & Shalini R P, “Smart Antenna Systems”, 2nd state level annual convention of ISTE student chapters, organized by MES College of Engineering, Kuttippuram ----- 2nd Prize
e. Dhanya R & Kavitha B R, “Data Mining and Data Warehousing abstract”, All Kerala Students’ Congress organized by IEEE chapter of NI College, Thucklay ---- 2nd prize

Apart from this, 5 papers prepared by the students of Biotechnology branch were presented in the national symposium ‘BIOVISION-2004’ organized by Sahrdaya College of Engineering.

The club has conducted a number of inter class paper presentation competitions also.
