Departments
Electrical & Electronics
It is another feather in this institution’s cap to have the fundamental engineering branch - Electrical & Electronics. The B. Tech course in Electrical & Electronics engineering started in the academic year 2004-05. The first batch of students is currently in the first year of this course. The department has best facilities and faculty to provide knowledge on theoretical and practical aspects of different areas of electrical engineering. The course is designed to have an effective blend of engineering intuition and mathematical rigour on students. The course encompasses the fundamental aspects such as power generation, transmission and distribution, power system protection, electrical machines, measurement systems, control systems, electronics devices and circuits, power electronics etc. Apart from this, it gives emphasis to emerging technologies like high voltage engineering, power semi conductors, digital signal processing, communication systems, computing and programming techniques. The department has a well equipped Electrical Machine’s laboratory and the other laboratories will be added as and when the students move over to the higher semesters. The knowledge of students is widened by providing various elective subjects as part of the course. This course is aimed at empowering engineers with strong technical knowledge and making them capable of applying theoretical knowledge to find solutions to practical problems of interest.
